Eleanor is Six Months Old

Our sweet Eleanor is growing so quickly. She is now six months old. She can sit up well with no support. She jabbers all the time. She's gnawing on everything in attempts to soothe her sore gums, but no teeth yet. She thinks her sister, Maggie, is hilarious! But Maggie has to be careful, if she gets too close Eleanor grabs her hair.Although she is her "Daddy's daughter" as far as resemblance, she is starting to favor her sister at this age.
Mimi made Eleanor the quilt in the background to go in her crib.

I know she's not doing it on purpose, but I love the ballerina look!

I have heard of smiling with your eyes, but smiling with your tongue? My girl can!
She loves her zebra and her Nuby teething ring. We keep them close by to save her poor hands and clothing from getting gnawed.

My girls and their "Emmie"out on the playground. Emmie came and took pictures of us feeding Eleanor cereal for the first time. It was quite an event. I'll post it next...stay tuned.

Valentine's Snow

On Valentine's Day I usually get flowers or candy. But this year we got over 10 inches of snow! To make things more interesting, Jason was in California on business. Emily decided to brave the "snow-in" and stay with us. We had a blast!
Eleanor's snow baby complete with pacifier.

The snow was coming down so hard I had to wrap my camera in an oven bag to keep it from getting wet.

Maggie and Emily eating snow.

Yum..it tastes pretty good!

One taste was not enough for Maggie. If she wasn't throwing it, she was eating it.

The woods across the street from our house. I didn't take any pictures of the front of our house. I didn't want to leave tracks in the snow. Yes, I'm like my Daddy. We played in the back so the front would stay pretty.
The snow may be slushy and melting, but that didn't stop me and Maggie from having a Saturday snowball fight. She actually asked me to make her a snowball because she didn't know how. Then she pinged me in the head with it. Smart girl!

Collecting her snow....

Rolling it up...

Packing it tight...Guess who's the target!

She's got a pretty good aim. But my lefty was throwing with her right hand.

I took advantage of Eleanor's nap and got to spend some one-on-one time with my sweet Big Sister, Maggie. I hope this is a snow she'll always remember.

Miller Family Trip to the Circus

February 2014

Ok, So I admit it! I've been a bad blogger. I haven't posted any pictures or anything since 2012. Well what can I say life has been very busy. We have since had another baby, our lovely Eleanor, and have moved into our new house. Things are constantly on the move. It's hard to believe Maggie is 3 1/2 and Eleanor is 4 months old.

Last weekend we took the girls to the circus. I hadn't been to the circus since my first year of teaching in 2003. Even though I've heard the stories of the maltreatment of animals, I am still glad we went. They limited the time and acts with animals that I felt like it wasn't as harmful as shows from the past. There were acrobats of all kinds and even a lady who shot herself out of a cannon. My favorite part was watching Maggie literally sitting on the edge of her seat (more up against the rail) as everything transpired.

Pumpkin Patch 2012

October 27, 2012

We took Maggie to Red Wolf Farms to get a pumpkin. It is a whole day event. She played on her favorite piece of playground equipment, the " flide". She visited the petting zoo. We went through the maze, picked pumpkins, rode on a hay ride, ran through the tunnel, and played in the corn. When we got home we still had corn coming out of shoes, skirt pockets, everywhere.

Maggie and Daddy "horsing" around.

We tried burying Maggie in the corn, but she wasn't happy. She said, "Let me do it self!"

Maggie is giving Daddy the grand tour of the petting zoo. Chickens, cows, pig, oh my!
The calves were named Waylon and  Willie.

Enjoying the fall leaves as we walk to path to visit the pony.
Maggie's new joy in life is the "flide". She wants that and a "fling" for her birthday.

Supize!

Look how much I've grown !
Maggie wanted a pumpkin she could carry. This is still a little big, she had to get Daddy to help her.

What a difference a year makes. This time last year she was barely toddling around, still unsure of her steps. But she walks around now like the owns the place.

Now we have our pumpkins! It will be time for turkeys before you know it!

Oak Island 2012

May 2012
We spent a long weekend on Oak Island for Memorial Day. Maggie enjoyed the ocean so much she spoke to it every morning, "Hello Ocean!" through the screened-in porch.

This is Maggie's beach chair Mimi bought her with her mermaid doll, Shelly, that Nana and Poppie got her.

Mimi painted Maggie's toenails like Momma's. Maggie was very proud of them.

The gulls thought we had food to feed them. So they hovered over us while we were taking pictures. Once they found out we didn't have any food, they quickly left.

Maggie loved the sea foam. She loves "bubbles"! She wasn't much of a fan when they would blow away like regular bubbles.

Maggie gets brave and heads toward the water.
The wave was stronger than what we had expected. Pure shock!( Yes I kept taking pictures, but Daddy and Mimi were right behind her)
Falling....
Falling...
All wet! Not a happy girl.
Hello, Maggie! this is the ocean calling.
We woke up to a rainbow filled sky Tuesday morning.
